Public Works Department registers Electrical Contractors for execution of works and issues registration certificates to them.
Other departments use the same registration certificate to allot electrical works to them.
Depending on the applied class for registration the documents submitted by contractors are checked at different levels like EE/SE/CE and Government. Verified documents are submitted to the competent authority for issue of Registration Certificate.
This whole process takes lot of time; often the contractors are not aware about the status of registration.
